I sold 20+ pedals before the summer, and kept the 4 pedals I use anyway. Now my selfmade board is tiny enough to fit into a small backpack. Very happy :)

If you want transparent you can get a clean or dirty boost and just crank the heck out of it. Or not, I have a boost that I have barely pushed past 9 o'clock it gets dirty really quickly.

Still got my CE-2, as well. First effects pedal I ever bought.

You can't go wrong with a good TS-9.

An OCD if you like it hairy, a Pettyjohn of you like it smooth.

By now I'd be shocked if ANY modern overdrive pedal was unusable.

    Fabulous chorus.
I have 2, but have the analog man chorus on my board because it's built like a tank and sounds almost as good.

I’ve been looking for a mini chorus that comes close.

I don't have a katana but as far as nice overdrives go, I have recently gone down the youtube rabbit hole with Jam Pedals. Soon I will go demo the lucydreamer supreme and double dreamer pedals at a local shop. They are pricey but they also have some killer features. The clean blend knob might be interesting based on your stated preferences.

Thanks! Yes, this set up was well thought and the result of a couple of years of pedal chasing.

totally agree with the POT and KOT - they’re stand alone or they stack extremely well with other dirt pedals.

and the keely comp plus just adds another dimension to it all !

the set up you’ve got is awesome as well - KOT (which id love to have) into the Timmy or OD9 + keely is great

Love the small stone phaser - I have one but the color switch has a short in it

Yes, I like it.The Nobels ODR-Mini is really good; at least to MY ear. To me, it does the Low-Gain, natural-sounding Overdrive "thing" (that's so popular in today's Country music in particular) VERY well. By itself, it won't do extremely High-Gain or Metal tones well; you'd need to push it w/a Boost pedal or use it in tandem w/another drive pedal to get close to THAT sonic territory. That said, if your goal is to get in the "ballpark" w/ a Robben Ford/Tom Bukovac/Guthrie Trapp tone, etc., this pedal is worth a try- especially since most of us can't (or shouldn't) shell out the $$$$$ for a 40K-dollar Dumble Amplifier!

My main setup; a smaller setup containing the Nobels pedal.

YMMV, but I have always had better luck getting good OD tones from solid state amps by using a dialed back distortion pedal instead of OD pedals.

An OCD or DS-1 set for lighter clipping sounds better to me than a cranked TS-9 or SD-1 into a solid state amp.

I got the XTS while waiting for the KoT. It was so good that I bought their 3 pedal in one "Preamp" for my big board and put this one on the smaller one.

Money was tight and I was loving my sound when my number came up for the KoT, a year and a half later. I decided not to claim the unit.

Years later and my friend is totally into his KoT. I'd sold some gear, so the money was there. Turns out that my claim was still good, if I wanted it. So I ordered it in black and got it two weeks later.

Mike's a class act, selling exceptional gear.

Is the XTS a boutique OD? From the looks of the options it’s gotta be killer.

the CE 2 is such a nice chorus

I just landed a Wampler Velvet Fuzz - I’m hoping it gives me Classic Rock tones

but I’m telling you, I was playing along to Jimi today and I stacked the POT with the Plexidrive and it was heavenly

XTS is based in Nashville. They’re a very well respected smaller boutique operation. Aka: they kick ass.

They build boards, too. Recommended a Timmy over one of their own lighter ODs when I asked their advice. Said it would serve my needs better.

I’d love to have a Plexidrive. Im sure it’s awesome with the PoT.

Wampler always comes through with great stuff. Congrats!

the Plexi is scooped while the POT is more mid focused without the hump of a TS9 so they pair immaculately
