A friend made this for me as a gift. I'll never sell it. My sons call it the Megadeth guitar. Now I just need to finish learning how to play holy wars....

Traced my 2nd Gibson Flying V for a Vox AC30 two weeks ago. Needed an amp for band practice, so that’s life. Not used to be V-less, bought my first one in 1994.

i have never had a v but i will never forget the first one i tried.

it was an early 80's white gibson v with black plastic and still to this day is one of the easiest to play guitars i have played.

    My old rig....1978ish...
    [IMG]My old rig by Steve

A recent refinished V with Vibrola added.....Unfortunately this guitar turned out to be a nightmare...the paint never set properley, it got stuck in it's case and eventually I managed to get it out, but it was covered in case lining. The nut had been bodged, and the vibrola was hopeless. I ended up getting a new nut fitted, removed the vibrola and took all the paint off the back of the neck. It doesn't look so good now, but it plays great.

I've never weighed it, but holding that and my LP at the same time, they feel similar.

Ah, want a white V so bad. After was stupid enough to sell my ‘94, I bought a 2012. Sadly it felt «wrong», didn’t like the feel of the neck. They got granadillo fretboard too, I believe?

I was recently told that they changed the neck profile for a version that went under the name V factor X. Maybe I got one of them, who knows.

Now I want a white one from the nineties :) With ebony fretboard. Here’s the two I’ve owned. One for 23 years, the other one for six months.
