I have done a few and kept most of them, here is my favorite. Need some better pics of it. JLV soft V neck, VM cedar body, MIM bridge, 48th St. Tex Mex HSS guard.

And second favorite :) VN2 Squier neck, Squier Standard bod and A5 humbuckers split, MIM bridge.

Mounting another JLV soft V neck on this one as soon as I get around to it :) Fender Diamondback bridge pup spit and an A2 single coil neck MIM Midnight wine bod, Modern MIM bridge.

I found a MIM HSS body at the local shop, and I had a few spare necks, and a YJM Fury pickup set...

The neck has a Blackmore style partial scallop, but the neck is in need of a fret level, and recrown, so I have a reverse headstock rosewood I'm going to slap on until I get around to leveling the frets.

Finished the black one yesterday, I installed the new Vmod pickups I got from a fellow member. I debated adding a treble bleed to them because Fender uses one with these but in the end I just did the 50's wiring with a .022 PIO cap and they sound really good.

    My Partcaster project.
I initially started with an Olympic White body and a maple neck with all original parts. Then I changed the body to sunburst, pickups to 57/62 etc, so I had lots of spare parts. After sometime, I had enough parts to build a second one.

I'm liking this neck on it so it may stay, and get a scalloped fretboard at the next string change.

    Where is the line drawn?

Original neck and body, yes, albeit rather modified. Everything else is parts from different sources, plenty of which was never really meant to fit the Affinity it once was. The pickups are my own builds.

My '61 replica. (I call it a replica to justify the Fender logo!) Body and neck from Rockinger, Germany and all Fender genuine parts except for Kluson single-line tuners.

Very, very nice work ! I have to ask although, being a carpenter as well a player, Pine is a soft wood,, have you ever had issues with splitting ? Or afraid, it may someday split ?

Not yet, hope it won't... indeed soft wood, but VERY resonant if old enough, love to work with and to play it after. Also, heard some guys that injected some glue or something in the cracks, but I did not try that - no need yet.
    - Easy to paint (I work now with an oak body, pain in the a... to paint that...).
    - Another advantage - VERY light body. The Telemaster went to a friend of mine who was really amazed about the weight, comparing it to his alder Tele...
