In Canada we used to say “24th of May is the Queen’s Birthday, if we don’t get a holiday we’ll all run away!”
Now it’s mostly just known as the May24.

You would think she would be on something a little bigger than a C note. Or would she be non-denominational?

That's because the 100 note would be the basic unit under modern British administration.

Think or say what you like, The Queen has always been the picture of dignity and reserved elegance. In a current world of the famous and shameless, no other noted dignitary, or prominent public figure can stand up to her impeccable record of sobriety and composed stateliness.

IMO, this has earned, if not won, our respect. "Are you supposed to look like you're enjoying yourself"? Now, that there's funny, I don't care who ya are.

Happy Birthday, Queen Elizabeth! You'll always be Her Majesty, to me...

Rather like Edward VII taking over from Queen Victoria.

    A short reign.

Swapping one geriatric dress-up fantasist for another every few decades. The perfect metphaor for our country: over inflated, decrepit and quite indifferent to reality.
