I'm guessing this is the best forum to put this in. Thought about Sidewinders or even For sale, trade or wanted but decided on here. Anyway...

Not gonna go into a long historical post here but I'd like to find my Strat I sold years ago. This was my main guitar for 20 years or so and I sold it off on eBay back in 2003 due to poverty, LOL. If I recall I sold it to some guy/shop in Kansas City. And it didn't actually sell ON eBay, he made me an offer outside of the auction so there's no tracing there.

Anyway, it was a '79 International Series Stratocaster in Monaco Yellow. It had a number of chips in it which I colored in with a black Sharpie and it was last seen with this hideous pickguard on it and a Seymour Duncan in the bridge. Yeah, it was the 90s. The serial number was/is S957852.

If anyone happens to come across it, lemme know, would love to have it back!

If it's meant for you it'll come back to you. Speaking of long lost friends I saw this the other night.

Ya never know. Good you posted the serial number.

We had a guy come in looking for a guitar he'd sold under simliar circumstances 50 years ago. Joined and posted the serial in 2014, but didn't leave any contact info and didn't post regularly.

Last year the guy who had the guitar did a google search on the serial and his post came up. He joined and asked about the guy who made the original post.

Took a bit to find the OP, but he was located and they managed to get him back his original guitar.

So it may take a bit, but it can happen. Here's Tony's original post and then the follow up after they got together. It's a good read...while you wait..:)
    Good luck!

Good luck on your hunt for it! By the way the International Colors were actually 1981s; Fender used those S9xxxxx serial numbers on Strats from 1979 through 1981 before jumping to E2xxxxx numbers for the small-headstock 1982 models. Since people go by the decals you often see them listed as 1979s. When you're searching consider broadening the years from 1979 through 1981.

I did actually know this, just always liked calling it a '79.
