Someone has one locally, no price listed - so I'm contacting them. Says it needs work....I guess I'll find out soon enough....

Anyone have experience with these? It looks Matsumoku made, late 70s or early 80s...

Value? If it's cheap enough I'm picking it up - and I wonder if those are Bill Lawrence rail humbucker type copies....

For sure does look like Matsumoku. You are well equipped to tell whether it has issues that can't be repaired and expertise enough to sort out some problems. If it's cheap, buy it. I would.

Ad says 'best offer' - seller has not responded. Looks like he's probably thinking 200-300+ Canadian.....otherwise why not reply to me when I ask how much he wants for it and what is wrong with it.....I find people who post those 'contact me' ads with no price usually overvalue what they have. I may get lucky but I doubt it @Lonn @Dadocaster

What would you pay assuming it probably needs some rewiring.....?

value i dont know know, but if your feeling on its make and era is correct, i'd expect it to be at least 400USD and wouldn't be surprised if its value was higher... it looks like it would sound fantastic.

I’m a little jaded on prices because I get so many good deals and I would pay three or 400 for that one.

    Ahh!!! We are brethren!!!

I buy a lot of nice things for 100 USD a piece. Anything that would take work, I would not go much more. I have three guitars on my wall a few feet away that I have a total of 165 USD in, so I may be out of touch.

Seller got back to me - tuners have 2 missing bushings, frets have dings, and electronics don't work at all - and he wants $300 Canadian $226 US, so I think this is a hard pass....

I'm pretty jaded because of all the good deals I get as well but as mentioned I'm a sucker for those old MIJ neck thru Strats. If it was near me I'd be all over that.

Headstock logo font is telling me that one is Korean made. I would go try it out at that price, but it would have to be a great player for me to take it home.

I've never worried about fretwear. Believe it or not of the thousand guitars I've been through I've never had one unplayable. Keep in mind I prefer medium action so getting super low has never been a priority.

It's not fret wear, it's huge dings/dents/flat spots from falling over many times.....big gouges in the frets....

Just going by what the seller told me, he said the "metal bumps on the neck" are all dinged up because it fell over a few times.....

I've had a lot be unplayable to my needs - when they won't take a .010" relief and 2mm action height, which is a little high.....and there's any buzz or choking out.....I get rid of em
