I am up late, as I am every night. I’m watching Mannix on MeTV. Awhile bake they had the episode from the late 60’s with Neil Diamond in it. I love this show. Anybody else watch this? I usually fall asleep in the middle of Cannon, which is on afterward. But not tonight as I drank a half pot of coffee
I like the old 50s, 60s and 60s British programmes for the same reason. And all the stuff we had as kids too.
Love those shows but havent seen them in years, Manning, Strrets of SAN Francisco, Banacjek (spelling?), Canon, The Rookies, Hawaii 5-O Man back when television was fun....
I know, the stuff these days on network television sucks. The show that really has me baffled is the show about the severely autistic surgeon. Like that would ever happen. I have a mild form of it at was able to work as a nurse and respiratory therapist. I don’t have Asperger’s, just a mild autism, but with a high IQ, and I’m only just a little bit socially lacking. My bedside manor wasn’t too bad, and I could function very well. But that show just blows my mind. No hospital would ever put up with that kind of thing. I guess mine is really mild, because I got on well with the nurses and dated many of them he he. I used to memorize large parts of my pulmonology text books, and always got high marks in college. A show that I really used to enjoy was Emergency. I enjoy it even more now that I know how much bull crap was in it. It’s good for nostalgia, and a laugh.
Yes, and cool theme too. That tune has been running thru my head for many decades. Lalo Schifrin wrote some great stuff.
I start with Carol Burnette followed by Perry Mason , I catch the beginning twilight zone fall asleep and wake up during Mannix. And sometimes I catch some of Alfred Hitchcock.
Well I haven’t been able to sleep yet. Dragnet is on now. I can’t believe that Julie London was married to Jack Webb. Bobby Troup wasn’t shocking, but Jack Webb?
We watched all the original broadcasts of Mannix, and enjoyed the second generation Armenian's adventures, but I haven't seen one since. Maybe I need to watch a couple.
Yeah she was married to Webb before Troup. Webb had something to do with Emergency. I guess he gave the jobs to London and Troup on that show, but that was just some thing I think I read on Wikipedia or something. I guess everybody remained friends. I really liked Julie London’s voice. Both singing and speaking.
I love to watch both Mannix and Cannon. I think the theme music for Mannix is one of the best! And I remember thinking Cannon's mobile phone was so cool! You rarely saw them at all at that time.
I love the old N.O.S. cars too.So many killer vintage mustangs...Saw a killer red 66 Fairlane with a some sport package on Adam-12 yesterday.
Rockford Files was and still is a great show....the girl that played his attorney Beth looked just like my girlfriend at the time....such a cutie....used to call her Beth though her name was Ann... Don't think I've ever seen anything bad from James Garner or Steve McQueen....2 of the best....
