Preamble: PLEASE NO POLITICS OR NAME CALLING UNLESS IT'S DIRECTED AT EBIDIS.

So, our Calif governor is lifting the mask mandate on the 15th FOR THOSE THAT ARE FULLY VACCINATED. You can bank, grocery shop, pick up hookers etc, maskless.

But then there are a slew of confusing "EXCEPT IN THESE SITUATION'S".

Right now roughly 48% of our state's population are fully vaccinated.

While grocery shopping this morning I bumped into the stores assistant manager and being the ever so curious person that I am I asked her "How are you gonna know who's been vaccinated and how will you enforce this?"

She just shook her head and said "Management is still working on that and I'm seeing people come in already without masks". She also mentioned that this is private property and they can still insist no mask no service which is what she said she would do if she owned the place.

IN MY OPINION, NOT STATING FACTS BUT JUST AN OPINION, I'm afraid of another spike coming. While my state does has cautious and considerate people we have been also overrun since the tech boom by not cautious and inconciderate people.

Like the nice lady at the store said "I'm still going to wear my mask for another year just to protect myself".

I agree with her.

And yes, I purposely spelled inconsiderate wrong to freak out the spelling police.
I’d feel better if Ebidis was required to wear two masks, just sayin..

Well, I know zip about you so I have no idea where you stand on any issue.

Exactly right.

So anyone assuming that I'm disinterested in 'protecting others' is expressing an opinion entirely unsupported by any fact.

BTW, I'm not any kind of Buddhist (the handle refers to the shape of my fingers and my clumsy playing), but even I know that the Buddha's actual first principle was to the elimination of Dukkha, which is often mistranslated as "human suffering," but (I'm told by actual Buddhists) more correctly means "the inevitable dissatisfaction which comes from clinging to the temporary and mundane" and is expressly an INDIVIDUAL kind of suffering.

Living here in NY it seems to be "anything goes". I'm fully vaccinated and I use common sense.
If I'm going to the Pharmacy or grocery store I'll wear a mask. Any where there is a group of people inside the same building I'm in I'm wearing a mask. If I'm going for a jog, beach or some place outside I'm usually do not wear a mask.

At any rate if your vaccinated or not I feel it would be wise that folks still wear mask indoors especially for risk of newer variants spreading and possibly making even more fit strains resistant to the vaccine.

Since there is no way to know who really is vaccinated or not its wise to assume others may not be until vaccination percentages climb higher.

Either way if you are vaccinated you have nothing to worry about as none of these major strains are resistant to the vaccine yet but given vaccine percentages there may be some time in the future where folks who are not vaccinated or unvaccinated and maskless for example contribute to an even more fit mutated strain that may/can be resistant to the current vaccine treatments.

The main problem I guess here is that unvaccinated or unvaccinated maskless people do pose a risk to public health IMO in spreading and contributing to new mutations/strains that as said could be resistant to current vaccine treatment.

This is why its so advantages, beneficial and important folks get vaccinated now and as quickly as possible while our vaccines are still effective and before any new strains that are resistant emerge IMO.

The first gun store I went to, our local indoor shooting range. Said that people can wear a mask if they want, but have take it off if they are purchasing a firearm, so as to match a face to their ID. They won’t sell you a gun if won’t show your face. Makes sense to me.

Remember 2019?

In those days if you DID wear a mask into a bank, liquor store, gas station...

I do have to add to my earlier comments though...while I don't give a toss how long you wear or don't wear your mask, whether or not you agree with the CDC's guidelines or any of that...if you think the CDC is wrong in its most recent guidelines and you think they shouldn't have made them...then you are denying science and dead wrong. And yes, you can disagree with the decision and yet still accept the fact they did it based on current scientific info. That's all I ask, that you accept it as scientific fact...just as you demanded of others.

Can't have it both ways.

I wear them where they are required and don’t wear them where they are not required .

This is where the wife and I are at. We are fully vaxxed and have willingly followed the rules throughout, and now that the mandate is lifted, we continue to follow the rules. If a private business requires us to wear masks, that's fine - we will. But otherwise, we are glad to be able to go maskless - those who choose to go unvaccinated do so at their own risk.

My thoughts exactly.
