Just looked it up on Taylors site and it's a 2001 so only 19 years old. IIRC is was around $800 and a quick peek at reverb just for a reference point they're going for more than that in not as good condition as mine. Regardless the folks would swoop down from the heavens and haunt my ass if I sold it.

This is them in 1950's San Francisco long before they croaked.

I generally don't care for coated strings, but I've been happy with Elixers on mine.

Thanks, I'm now sold. That's 2 recommendations so no "what acoustic strings are best" threads will come from my fingers! :thumb:

    NICE guitar!

I owned a 310 and a 410 years ago. Back in those days they went in the $1K range. All solid woods. But over the years the prices went high- I'm guessing about the time they started making other good guitars at lesser price points.

Great guitars and that's a wonderful 'all around' size, IMO.

BEST wishes with that beauty. Bet it sound GREAT!

    & @Stratoskater

Put on a set today and really like them, 11's. They feel good and have a nice full and brite tone which makes my ears happy. Good recommendation from you two.

    Should be a nice one.
People generally agree that solid wood guitars improve when the wood "ages". At 19 years, this one might already be better than new, especially as it is in good shape.

I have been in the acoustics rabbit hole. I love the Gibsons, my favorite guitar of all times is a J45 Vintage. My next favorite acoustic goes to a tie between the Martin AA D28 '37 and the Hummingbird Vintage. All of the three above with thin finish and baked tops.

Strings - Lifespan 2.0 light on ALL my guitars, including the Martin Rosewood dreads.... Really nice for finger picking.

I have had a few Taylors (312 Rosewood, 314 Sapele, 317 Sapele, and 414 Rosewood) and they love the Martin Strings.

My favorite was the 312 as it was the only one with the original X-Brace.... I am not a fan of the V brace on today's Taylors.
