I'm interested in knowing what people in other parts of the world have when it comes to internet speed. I'm grateful that I live in a country where fiber net is easily accessible. Right now mine is close to 50 mbt/sec at average but the fiber net should allow up to 100 mbt/sec.

It ain't bad but not best. I have a feeling that majority of US households have an average of 5 mbt/s

I have fiber-optic internet service at home, 50 megabit both ways, and my last speed test showed I was getting fairly close to that. The ISP I use offers it up to 150 megabit. I've heard of gigabit internet being available from some companies in the US too (at least for the download speed).

I used to have internet and basic cable TV with Comcast. I found I could get better TV reception over the air, so I called Comcast to cancel my TV service. They said my bill would actually increase if I dropped the TV service.. It didn't make any sense to me. When I moved, I switched to a different internet service.
