Mine was 5.7 Mbps. I retried five minutes later and got 2.2.

On Speedtest, I got 7.42 down and 1.42 up. It also says my Ping is 22 Ms, whatever that means.

    That's nuts!!

I just got upgraded from 25 Mbps to 60 Mbps down. Honestly, the 25 was more than enough. I've measured it at about 72. Uploading I think is 15, maybe 30?

Highest I saw was 120, but I have an app updating also...

Plain old DSL. Wasn't so long ago we all had dialup over here.

And the only ISP has TERRIBLE SERVICE. Internet access drops out all the time.

They don't care, I have their customer service on speed dial and when I complained their CSR said "You're welcome to switch companies."

    As if there's anyone else.

    28ms, 95mbs down, 87 up.

At home, more like single digits. Google Fiber is supposed to be installed in our neighborhood "soon" but I'm not holding my breath.

Addendum from home: 26ms, 19 down, 5 up. Lots of traffic right now.

Our speed totally blows and we are paying more for a faster speed. It was like a dial up, pictures load one at a time. Our internet provider companies around here are a ripoff.

It's an accoustic coupler and I remember one from when I had my first job. Now I feel very old.

My internet is just showing just short of the 50Mbps I'm supposed to get, it's only 50 because I'm cheap and only pay for the entry level but 200Mbps is available.

I used to have one myself, loved the bulletin boards. :) I get 80Mbps now, it sometimes doesn't seem much quicker though, due to website bloat.

Probably due to schmucks trying to use a steel tape to measure the internet

You feel old!? I'd been in work about 20 years before the Internet became a 'thing' in most people's minds. Heck, I can remember interviewing one of the top guys at Microsoft in about 1989 and asking him what 'multimedia' technologies were on the horizon. I got plenty of hints about the format that was to become DVD, but literally zippo about WANs or the Internet.

    I didn't get a modem and a dial-up account until 1995 – and I was ahead of a lot of people.

Alas, I seem to be getting a speed of 19MBPS today, but I think that's mainly because I'm still connected via WiFi. When I finally get round to running a CAT6 Ethernet cable to the router downstairs that should go up to more like 36MBPS. TBH, even 19 is fine for me. OK, a large sound file takes a little while, but I'm not shifting files around as part of my work anymore so I can wait.
