Yeah, It's a Lou Reed album with Metallica as band and I guess Lou Reed did all the writing, cause it's all about sex, racism and being a table

My favorites being: I would cut my legs and **** off
When I think of Boris Karloff and Kinski
In the dark of the moon

    And

I will swallow your sharpest cutter
    Like a colored man's dick.

What the hell is he singing about?! It's just awful..

Metallica doesn't have racist and sexist lyrics as I am aware of...

So according to the metal chart that I had to look up, I like Industrial metal, early metal which yes includes Jimi Hendrix, Power metal, pop metal, some metal core, some thrash metal, new wave of british metal. I think my next adventure will be Norwegian black metal? Sometimes I feel like "metal" is just a classification of different bands that use heavy distortion?

I just don't get all the labels. Kinda pointless. Fear Factory is just as metal as Chimaira which is just as metal as Megadeth, but all 3 have different classifications. Crazy.

    For good measure...

For an old guy, I think I'm pretty open to a lot of music including good metal like Metallica, Maiden, Crue, Pantera, etc...hec I'm even digging Lacuna Coil. However the screamo metal is a big turn off. I've heard several songs I thought were really good sounding riffs until the screamo started and I immediately moved on to something else. There is nothing musical about people screaming unintelligibly...bleh, bleh and more bleh!!

    DUBSTEP!

But in all seriousness, Metal has a lot of technical talent to it. I've always preffered sound to speed, and metal is NOT my sound, but to each his own, right?

So I hate metal, but others can like it all they want. It's when you replace instruments with computers that I become a snob! :D

Its weird, but what a lot of people call Metal, I don't really consider metal. Stuff like Moltey Crue, or Warrant, and all those hair bands. I consider that pop music with guitar solos.
As far as the screamo type stuff, I dont really care for a song where someone is singing sweetly and then suddenly grunting. Pick one!! ha ha. As far as I can go into that is Killswitch Engage. Even when both of those guys are just plain singing, it still sounds good. I dunno. I like that band, with either singer. I like the first album much more though.

And AJ, that is one of the best songs on Reinventing, and it definitely my favorite from that album. Good choice.

Speaking of KSE, here is one of my faves...Numbered Days.

These guys are kinda weird. Protest The Hero. I like them, and then I dont. I cant decide. Its like the guitars are a little too busy...

And that Chelsea Smile singer sounds like Cobain when he is not screaming.

I remember Killswitch from awhile ago, apparently the singer has a freakishly big dong!

It is freakishly interesting especially if you look at it in a mood stimulant perspective. This stuff facinates because we all kind of try to reach for that element in our music. I play blues if thats any kind of perspective.

It is also interesting when you listen to the lyrics. I think I heard an alien somewhere in there.

Well that's not the exact kind of mood stimulation I go for...but it's definitely interesting. If you're looking to get some crazy stimulation, you should try dubstep...hate the stuff but it gets your blood pumping!
