    Howdy

Thinking of getting an 87 MIJ hardtail strat online but radius and bridge routing matter to me and unfortunately the seller doesn't know either.

    Do any of you know?

    Thanks!

Which MIJ Strat? If it's a vintage model it will be vintage specs.

Thanks TB. It's made in 87. Unknown model, I just know it's hardtail, so not likely a reissue.

We can't tell you without seeing pics or a link to an ad....could be 7.25", could be 12".....could even be 9.5"....and usually hardtails ARE the 'reissue' models.....

ST-462 rare model with hardtail basswood body.....

7.25" fretboard radius, small vintage frets.....

    How much is it?

    Thanks both, very impressive :)

It's $500 which I don't want to pay for a partscaster. And Im not a fan of the 7.25 which is why I asked. Oh well.

    Thanks!

Almost all 80s/90s Fender Japan stuff is going to be 7.25" my man....like 95% of their products......

And it's worth $500 for sure!!

    I know :/
But I'm always hopeful when I see a new model lol

I assume it's SSS under the cover?

Good deal just not for me. I'll look for the link and paste here in case anybody is interested and tell the seller the model since he was quite clueless :)

@blille you make me wish I had 500 bucks. I love 7.25 radius and small frets. It's just like my number 1 in that regard..

I really think it's what you get used to. I grew up idolizing Ibanez schredders and while I've evolved to play 9.5-12, I still can't do 7.25 :/

Fun fact, the guitar that made me realize that was a 3 bolt 79 sunburst strat :)

Give it a week and you would forget that it's different. I play everything from mandolin to bass, via mini Strats and full size ones...

I tried for a couple of years. Maybe it was the whole neck. I also had a 72 Thinline RI with 7.25 and that was better but still not there.

I play bass and my daughter's mini as well :)
