I used to have a bandit 112 back in the late eighties and loved it because:
    1) great clean sound at moderate volumes
    2) liked the overdrive channel too, in fact i didn’t use any gain pedals back then
    3) loved that it had a effects loop
    4) the spring reverb was great
    5) great sound overall at bedroom levels

It seems like the newer bandits have gone digital reverb and the overdrive channel didn’t sound so great to my ears, what is the best amp you can recommend with these features?
I’m fine with solid state or tubes prefer to buy new.

I currently have a Marshall DSL5 and a Champ clone i built. Love the champ, will get rid of the Marshall ...

I tried an old 112 red stripe with spring reverb before buying the Katana 50, but a Katana 100 would add the effects loop. Of course, the various reverbs effects are all digital.

The red stripe was no slouch, and they are not hard to find for a decent price. They are pretty heavy though.

Yeah, thing was built like a tank and just as heavy, unfortunately buying used is out of the question, house rules

Granting that the reverb simulations are digital, the Katana 100 is worth at least checking out before you dismiss it for the lack of springs.

The 100 does. The 50 does not.

Check out Laney amps LX series. LX65R or LX35R. Dedicated 3 band eq for clean and drive. Reverb. Line out. Effects loop.

Edit. I think only the 65 has the loop.

That’s interesting, never heard of the before, is the reverb digital? I assume so for the price. It seems like the 65 is the only one with an effects loop.

I'll throw out a solidstate curve ball that always gets overlooked....

Randall RG 80 112. Clean channel may surprise you.

One amp that i just tried was the orange crush 35rt, it has digital reverb but i liked the clean and dirty sounds from an American a standard plugged into it, price it’s not bad at all either...

Tried one and the dirty channel didn’t sound right to me, nothing like my old one...

In a nutshell , it needs to be played at high volume otherwise it sounds kind of dull.

I need an amp that sounds good at bedroom levels, I don’t play on a band or gig.
