Thanks guys. I genuinely don't know how many Gibson guitars I've owned over the years, but it's probably edging towards 100. When I was a kid, I looked at my heroes and it was obvious to me that I either aspired to own a Gibson or a Fender (or both in my wildest dreams). When I see those companies produce instruments that are not up to the best I know they can achieve, or they launch products that I can see won't be very popular, it frustrates me.

I want Gibson, Fender and all the high-quality guitar makers to thrive.

(I'm sorry, but I'm not really in the right stage of life to start raising funds to buy the company out. My time in MI manufacturing started in 1972 and ended in 1979. I'm not sure that necessarily invalidates my opinion.)

I’d totally be into it if there was a real hope of getting enough cash together.

I own two 2014 LP Melody Makers and a 2017 Les Paul Tribute T with P-90s that I am most satisfied with.

Retail stores are closing left right and center in Memphis.

The only new retail I can think of recently of serious size, is the IKEA on Germantown (TN177) just south of I-40.

Right. This is a cat and mouse game, where corporations take on debt in some cases, knowing the creditors will not want to let bankruptcy happen. This is all pre-baked into the chain of business transactions.
