Admin Post I bought some tuners from a member here earlier in the week. The tracking initially said Saturday delivery, but they arrived in Indianapolis Wednesday. They STILL won't get to my house until Saturday. They make it from Iowa to Indiana in 2 days but they need 3 more to get from the PO to my mailbox. End of rant.
Your jinxing me. I have something travelling USPS from a whole 40 miles away. Want it to show up today or tomorrow.
Same thing here been waiting on a pickguard for almost 4 weeks now and it has been like this for over 3 months now. There was a time when I could order something in CA and it would be in SC in less than a week. The last package from CA took almost 4 weeks to arrive. I have some 5 way switches that arrived at my hub site which is 18 miles away on Tuesday that are still sitting there. They are an absolute mess right now, it's so willy nilly.
Most of my mail has been arriving on time. But I sold something on eBay that I mailed two weeks ago, and the buyer is (justifiably) complaining he has not received it yet. Looks like I'll have to give him a refund....
Neither rain nor snow nor.... ehh... screw that, it's too windy, I'm gonna sit in my truck here in the yard.
USPS is in trouble. Delivery has gotten very erratic. The other day they showed up around 9:00 in the evening and just dumped a heap of boxes on the snowbank across the road. We haven't complained - I live in a very small town and the "postman" is a lady down the street everyone knows, doing what she can. The P.O. is full of people we don't know, guys in suits - so apparently the (government) bureaucrats have gotten involved. No wonder things are screwed up. I guess we should expect rising shipping costs for declining quality of service. I think we'll need to lower our expectations across the board, to be honest.
Yep, I have had only 2 packages on time since September. EVERY other package, both incoming and outgoing have been late by at least three days. I am currently waiting for a new pair of lenses for my sunglasses that have disappeared in the mail right here in my city, which is where most of my packages drop off the planet. They were supposed to be delivered on Monday and now the only thing the tracking says...In transit arriving late. IMO if you want another $22B to keep operating then you better show that you can at least do a half way decent job with what you have. Ridiculous.
OK in Chicago. I've ordered 5 things in the last few weeks and everything has met or gotten here early, including items from the west coast.
My experience is that the USPS is the only reliable delivery service. Not without fault, but action or have a barium enema than to have anything delivered by FedEx. But the best delivery service, isn't even a delivery service...Amazon. They have so much more on the ball than UPS or FedEx.
