Hey y'all! Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted, I've been doing good and hope y'all are too.

So, here's a backstory. There is a music school in my hometown that has been there since I was born (2004), or maybe a little longer. The guy who runs it has a MIM Fender Stratocaster in Candy Apple Red that he bought awhile back. It's either 80's or 90's I think.

Our music school does a lot of shows with the students, we have a rock band there. And anywhere you go, you can count on the candy apple red Strat being there. It's a small town but we all know and love it, it sits above my "Mr. Blue" in fame haha! :whistling:

Anyways, HERE'S WHAT I NEED HELP WITH. They brought it to me to have it's volume pot replaced because it was crackling really bad and was kind of going out (that's why I didn't just blow air into it). They asked if I could also date it because they wanted to know. I took the neck off and got a picture of the neck cavity (forgot about the neck, it didn't have much) and I also have the SN.

    SERIAL NUMBER: MN396276

Sorry for not having a lot of pictures, I forgot about asking on the forum (again, it's been so long) until it was already gone.

Do your best! Thank y'all so much!:thumb:

Your date's been confirmed. Try some deoxit on that pot. It will clean it and can actually restore small breaks in it.

1993 MIM Squier Series. They came in red, black and white. Great guitars!

Hmm, the headstock says Fender. Was it a Squier branded as a Fender?

It also has the Squier Series pickguard. The screws are all offset from a normal MIM pickguard and it's single ply.

If the MN3 s/n came from the neck, the neck is a standard. It has a silver decal, where the Squier series had black decals on headstock. The body came off the squier line, obviously. But the neck has the regular Fender decal. Could be a neck swap onto a Squier. Not enough photos to be definitviely anything other than a strat shaped object.

    1993. M= Mexico; N=90’s; 3=3

look up the serial number online. Fender and some Dutch website both offer this.
