This just arrived less than an hour ago. I'd heard lots of good reviews and a few that were negative, but it's an Amazon buy so I figured I'd take a chance and return it if I wasn't happy. Most reviews talked about the stainless frets and sweetly rounded fret ends and excellent overall finish. Both true, at least in my example. I'm very impressed. I was a bit concerned because the neck specs were like .81" at the first fret and .83 at the 12th, and I'm not a skinny neck fan, but I thought I could live with it if the fretwork was great. Either one could have been a deal breaker and I'd send it back. To my surprise and delight the neck is not at all skinny. Felt good in the hand and when I measured it I got .88" and .93! Not sure why, but it's just the way I like them. Came out of the box with a low action ( 4/64 & 3/64") and no buzzing or high frets.
A couple negatives are a jack plate clearly meant for a curved surface mounted on a flat and the string spacing at the bridge is a bit uneven. Given how good the neck and the finish is I'm glad to deal with those. 20230525_164559.jpg 20230525_164806.jpg 20230525_170905.jpg 20230525_174026.jpg 20230525_174035.jpg 20230525_174424.jpg
The Korean made ceramic pickups actually sound pretty decent too.
They say the body is carbonized mahogany. 20230525_165520.jpg

I thought carbonized wood was burnt.
I think you are correct. Translation from the Chinese description may just mean kiln dried. Same for the roasted maple neck, but I don't care. I knew it going in from reviews. So, might just be a mahogany body and maple neck with a good job on the stainless steel frets. In any case it's an excellent neck and a looker of a guitar, at least in my opinion. Already cured the curved jack plate with judicious use of a hammer and a block of wood. 20230525_202504.jpg

Swapped in a set of no name alnico tele pickups that came out of a partscaster tele I bought at a pawnshop a few years ago. Sounds very close to my other tele with the SD Jerry Donoghue and Dimarzio Twang King neck now. I'll be upgrading the switch and caps and adding a treble bleed next. A set of compensated brass saddles should arrive today. That should take care of the string spacing issue.
The stainless frets are just superb. Couldn't find a single high fret with my fret rocker. 20230525_164630.jpg

I had my eye on one of these but, ended up with a Harley Benton 25th anniversary.
Would have jumped at that for the price, regardless how many teles I'm accruing lately.

They just dropped the price on Amazon to $258, about a week after I received mine. Showed it to a friend who was impressed and ordered one at the new lower price. I'll keep mine. I started modding it the second day I had it.
