After a short vacation break; my 2 favorite crows are swooping down every morning to greet me...I have been giving them unsalted cashews which they seem to love. Panchita and Blackie.jpg

    Crows are cool.
This time of year, we have an influx of raptors here in NJ.
The crows mob up on the "intruders" with the call "HAWK, HAWK, HAWK"
dive bombing and chasing the other bird.
Guess that's why they call it a MURDER of Crows.

crows are awesome.... our band's mascot is a crow, or a raven... or I like to say a craven, a mix between a crow and raven... his name is Poe, or John, but usually Poe

    Our
The valley crows used to be limited to 1800 feet...
    But
The last 4-5 years they've made it up to 3800...
    And
To some extent they are moving the turkey cultures off
I passed an orchard this morning on the way to class...
There was a flock(murder) of 25 or more feeding on something under the trees...

    Oh
    Bye the Bye
That big buck was here at noon and limping less...
    Perhaps Rutting(sex) maybe therapeutic...

I wait for them to get close and then I just scatter the nuts...I used to only buy sunflower seeds to make them work cracking them open but I have grown so found that I upped the budget...funny not only do they recognize me but they know my car when I get to work and they never poop on it anymore which is a nice trade-off.
