I did post a picture of this in my S-type thread too, but since this is my first Fender Strat, I though I would show it off here too :)

It’s weird that I’ve owned 40+ guitars of all kinds, but never a Fender Stratocaster. I’ve had a Telecaster, and my Wolfgang is made by Fender. But never a Fender Strat. That’s because until a few years back I was a Gibson fanboy (and ESP). I found stratocasters a bit boring (my first guitar back in the late 80s was a Hondo). Until I bought my ESP Navigator, then suddenly I knew why I had problems connecting with my Les Pauls and the like. Strat was «my» guitar.

Recently a developed a GAS for a two-tone sunburst with nitro finish and maple neck. Not optimal since I’ve told everybody I’m done buying guitars. I also had a limited budget since I didn’t want to sell any of my guitars. So I sold a bunch of pedals that was just collecting dust, and bought this used. To be honest did want a US-made strat, but read a lot of positive things about MiM-strats too. Now when I have had it for a few days, I’m happy to say this is a really great guitar. Plays well, sounds well, and I find the finish beautiful. I even like the 7.25-radius.

Couldn’t help myself though, Monday the mailman will bring me gifts; Fender Locking tuners and a Lindy Fralin Hot bridge. But other than that, and a good set-up, it’ll remain original. I even bought a matching brown strap in soft leather, cheap it was not. 8667A25D-BE03-47E0-9F79-0D3536D197EB.jpeg D88601F6-07EA-4628-A653-AFE8F3958B58.jpeg 1F6A0C9C-E2A5-4F7A-905E-BEEC4DDC2C48.jpeg

Here it is, and here is a few pictures of the rest of the family too ^

You know what man I'll be the first to admit that I hate sunburst on guitars but that is one of the nicest sunburst finishes on a Stratocaster I've ever seen congratulations and welcome to the family of the Stratocaster The best design ever made.

Beautiful, I’m a sucker for the very amber necks on those 50s lacquers.

I’d hold off changing anything until you actually find a significant problem with the original hardware - especially if it calls for modifying the guitar...

Those locking tuners may require boring the holes bigger and maybe adding additional screw holes and may even imprint a different pattern on the back of the headstock.

I’d hate to see a beautiful guitar like that mutilated! (I’ve made changes that I’ve regretted on a few guitars).

    Otherwise: Congrats!

Quite easy to fall in love with this one.... I especially like the one ply 8 holes scratch plate... Enjoy!

The first time I ever heard the Strat is boring. ;)

You don't need another guitar now....
