A very fine choice Sir – can Sir be tempted with an RV6?

That was my first pedal way way long ago, and I'm still using the SAME one, this one gets some hate but spend some time with it find the sweet spots and what it does well and it might just win you over for life, been using mine off and on for almost 30 years..

That was my first distortion pedal too.
They're built like a tank and should give you many years or reliable service.

Boss DS-1 and OD-1 are the 2 stompers I bought for my son when he started his journey.
But he decided he needed more.

What's the old joke about giving a man a fish and he'll feed himself for day, give him a fishing pole and he'll need reels, lures, bait boxes,....

I had one of those YEARS ago. Wish they had the net back then. I was one of those guy's that were using it wrong, and finally got rid of it. I never got a decent tone out of it, and many years later, I'm finding out why.:D

^ The new ones have an iddy buddy circuit board with one chip on it that does all the work.

Better, if you can, to find a "vintage" one you can mod.

If you are handy with a soldering iron, the Wampler JCM Mod really makes this pedal sound awesome.

There's probably been a few who've said they didn't like it, and they were probably just like myself. I didn't have a clue, and if memory serves me, I did everything backward as the video pointed out, and was using Di'Marzzio (spell?) super distortion pickups in the middle and bridge of my Strat, I had back then. So I was the soul source of my own failure with that one.:whistling:

I didn't intend any offense @jbylake . I've just always thought this was a good pedal since my younger days. I didn't know anyone who had issues with it. I also never asked.

Great pedal. There is a reason so many musicians use that pedal. Actually, two of my favorite guitar players use that same pedal.

I didn't see anything offensive at all. I was just saying that I, according to his video, did everything wrong. Wrong pickups, wrong settings wrong everything. That pedal never stood a chance with me behind it.:D
