Did you check his food against the list that Ben posted in another thread? Huge recall of midwestern's dog and cat foods encompassing thousands of lot numbers. Most Sportsman's branded stuff but some others too I think.
Understood. Excessive = not good and symptomatic of something. This is more than usual and the OP is in touch with the vet.
Yes, thanks for the reference. Don't see anything suspicious. Definitely not over drinking, just 'normal'? rates. I'm hoping so. I thought it might have been just an upset stomach or cat-flu of some kind. But it's going on a while. I'm hoping he's getting nutrients.
I'm sorry your kitty isn't feeling well. I had a problem with one of my cats getting sick. I changed their food, and it made a big difference. If yours is hiding for hours, and losing weight, then I would think that it might be more serious.
What I meant was, was he eating one food for a long time and you recently switched? That may be a cause for it
Oh that. No, I usually rotate and change foods as they seem to tire of one or the other, all soft food. Although Bart still like crunch every now and then. They have never had this reaction.
Sorry for your buddy not feeling well. You didn’t say how old, or if he’s eating. Not eating could be teeth problems . When my cat got old enough he started getting sick a lot (+13 years and beyond). Also getting sick, not eating, but especially lots of drinking can be diabetes too. My sister has to give her cat shots every day, as well herself . Good luck
That's the thing, he seems basically normal otherwise. Maybe a bit more clingy, but I think that might be the cool of winter. Or maybe a sign of age. I hope the vet can tell me more next we speak.
I'll check all that. He eats fine, after vomiting he gets hungry again. The shots sound rough for everyone. (Lisa my partner has MS and injects daily. She's gotten used to it.)
He looks pretty tough. I thinks he's going to make it. Give em some bacon bits or pieces of turkey lol.....kitties love bacon and turkey!
Have you brought any plants into the house for the winter? We have a cat that throws up often. She is on special food now and it seems to help. She does it on purpose sometimes by eating a bit of leaf from the houseplants. Another cat was eating the cat tower carpet "fluff" while no one was looking. I still catch him eating things he's not supposed to.
I was just reading an article the other day about the same thing. Don't remember the source but you can google "if your cat vomits, do this" Seems like it's very common.
He is a tough cookie! Ha yes, I sometimes treat them with 'the real thing'. Yea, no indoor plants here. 'Fluff' does not sound healthy! Thanks very much! I'll do that. These guys almost never have puked before, except the the odd hairball.
