Our cat's been vomiting some and pulling out patches of hair. I just ordered some "dynovite" for cats (nutritional supplement). I sure hope that helps, because otherwise she's going to look like Mr. Bigglesworth in a few months!!!

Have you checked your bottles of vodka? ;)

J/K. Not to be an alarmist but it's never a good sign when an animal can't eat or keep down what they eat. Much like a human I would suspect some kind of an infection or maybe a parasite.

Yeah May be a kidney issue. My mom’s dog had a lot of kidney issues, he wouldn’t have lasted long at all, untreated. but lived for a full life (12 years or so) due to the medicine. it did become a pain because she had to increase the medicine, up to giving him daily shots towards older age.

Vomiting and excessive drinking, that would be my uneducated guess. But hopefully it’s something much more minor than that. If it is that, there are ways to treat it, unless it’s really advanced.

One more thought: if you recently started using hand lotion, because of dry winter air, some of that could transfer to the cat. Might cause some gastritis.

OK this is getting weird. I'm back to being circles, but I didn't change anything, or even log out/in.

But it has been a weird day, starting from having the power go out last night around midnight. Came back on around 5 pm. That's another post.

Yes, I'll be having a long call to the vet tomorrow.

Thank you that was very informative!

I'm hoping it's not something 'bad'.

    Nope, no new lotions.

    Thanks!

Sorry about your cat...have you checked to make sure his food isn't one of the recalled brands?

    Yes thanks.

BTW I found out there are about 5,000 brands of cat food at PetCo.

Best wishes to your four legged companion! I’ve had cats my whole life, currently down to three of them, and have seen/ heard a lot of stuff. One of my current cats, lovely guy, had me worried sick a few months ago too, when he was exactly one year old: He was puking constantly and (sorry, gross!) snacking it up again.... it was literally just compressed cat food, but I talked to the vet about it and he said well if he ain’t losing weight and looks healthy otherwise, maybe he’s just too fast at eating. So if your cat is puking but eating and drinking, things don’t seem too bad. Here’s to hoping it’s something simple and that he’s gonna feel better soon!

Thanks! I guess with something you care about, you fear the worst but hope for the best.

Thank you as well. When you are stuck at home for a year, there's not many people to share you life with, I appreciate the best wishes.

In 2015 my eleven year old cat Daisy, began vomiting on a daily basis. Then it stopped until October 2017 when the vomiting resumed and was accompanied by a refusal to eat. Ultimately the Vet found a lump in the stomach which was diagnosed as cancer. On 5 November 2017, I held her in my arms as she was put to sleep. The lesson that I learned from this was: don't wait until the end to go looking for cancer.
