new stuff, butcher block geetars
The OP's comments are a joke that I'm too tired to get right? *shakes head, walks away*
This whole thread makes me want to build like a 92 piece jigsaw strat with multiple wood types and glue everywhere, while staining each piece individually a different color. By some logic, this type of body should not have sustain of more than 2 or 3 seconds.
Bro, that much glue? That'll sustain for like 2 or 3 years.
1 piece squier body.
It's why I only use leaded glue.
Wacky and very unusual. What is it?
IIRC, my Gibson SG Exclusive had a 7-piece body and a 9-piece neck covered up with black lacquer. I didn’t like it any more or less than my ‘62 sith a 1-piece body
Every single glue joint kills sustain. It's a known fact!
I think I'm gonna lose sleep
And you're surprised by that why exactly?
They are. To save cost they use more wood than glue though.
As long as it's not IN pieces I wouldn't worry too much
My 2.9 kg lightweight Squier 1983 JV has a one piece body.
Body is from a Squier Pro Tone, made in Korea around 87 I believe.
I don't recall ever seeing a one piece body from the Custom Shop, though I'm prepared to believe that they do exist. I've only ever seen one piece bodies from Japan - from Tokai - though I wouldn't be surprised if a small number of the top of the range premium Fender Japan models had them. The Japanese like that sort of thing because they look nice, not that they sound better. It really doesn't matter unless the guitar has a see through finish, & even then a nicely matched centre joined two piece body can look just as good.
I have two Tokai Teles, one has a one piece body, the other has a two piece. Does one sound better than the other? Of course not.
Don't forget we are talking about an electric guitar.
Those things makes sense only in the acoustic instruments universe...
It's a Squier, what did you expect? they're not exactly a premium product.
PS - my #2 is five pieces by the looks. Sounds great.
Looks great and it's ok, because it's a Tele...
Fender should charge 1.33x more for the 4 piece vs 3 piece body.
More is better.
But ehm..... no neck
