So I have a set of N3 pickups that I put on my MIM for some noiseless pickups. I am never going to use the S1 switch since all I wanted was Strat sounding pickups but noiseless not the many combinations.

Just curious if the extra wiring with S1 takes away anything from the pickups. I know I can’t expect pure vintage tone from noiseless pickups but if I can “improve “ (tinker/screw up something) why not. IMG_0002.JPG

No. You will keep the sounds you have when the switch is off and they will sound the same.

Also, there are people who think noiseless pickups sound sterile and they may be right or wrong - but a good player will make the pickups shine either way.
Stop doubting your pickups, start being that player ;)

No, won't change. Plus the S1 is useful if you play live as it gives a bit of a boost and a darker tone.

Also, I've played a few sets of noiseless pickups and N3s come pretty damn close to traditional single coil tone.

I find using the S1 switch gives the bridge pick-up a less trebly, darker sound, which is good for copping solos originally played on a humbucker.

I like the sound of the N3's - they have a very pure Strat sound to my ears.

    You’ve been misinformed.

The N3s are very good pick ups and can be as vintage or modern sounding as you like.

I've a set of N3's in my American Deluxe.

I've replaced them once, but have since reinstalled the original pickgaurd.

I like them, I happen to find them very Strat like. They are in fact made by Fender for their Strat, can't get any more Stratty than that!

I don't bother much with the S1, but it's an option to use if I choose.

No idea about the S1, but, wow! Absolutely think your guitar looks awesome.

Is it sonic blue or oly white? Sometimes they look the same.

The S1 switch effects nothing if it is off.

If you want to improve your guitar, get rid of those two ugly knobs.:whistling:

Of course that is only my unwanted opinion, it's your guitar, so do what you want.;)

The n3s record really well. Neck is good . I understand the sterile complaints they do seem to lack mojo sometimes .

I like the jazzmaster knobs/s1 combo you’ve got there. Totally unique and functional.
