    Yeah!

1st anniversary getaway this weekend. Stopped on the way down to the hotel/spa and picked up a used Fender Champion 600 amp, (no pics till be home). Brought a tele to try it with, and It sounds killer. Farted around with it a little in the room before going down for a couple's massage. Never had one before, felt great. Then snuck out to a brew pub for supper and sampled some brews, and am about to plug in the tele again while Foxy gets a soak in the tub. Fun.

Getting our feet done tomorrow, (feel bad for whoever ends up having to look at mine). That will be another first for me too.

    Anyway, cool little tube amp.

That sounds awesome! I've been fiending for a 600 for years now, but just haven't pulled the trigger on one. Enjoy your getaway!

Awesome amps. Replace the grill cloth with something proper and not that thick burlap stuff they used and it will be 1000 times better. Also slap in some good tubes and they are insanely great amps.

Well then you got good tubes already:thumb:. There are bunches of threads on the web about changing the grill cloth. I’ve owned two of these and changed the cloth right away and the impact was dramatic. Much more open, truly like taking a blanket off the amp. You got a great amp there for sure man. Oh and happy anniversary too.

Those amps are underrated. They're very similar to the older Champs, but seem to go for a lot less money. Enjoy it!

Hnad! I have a champ as well. Did the grill cloth, tubes, lifted one of the resistors and added a high low switch. Still can't get along with it. Hope you have better luck.

    These amps are great.

Do yourself a faivor and buy a 212 for it. These sound dope through 212 or 412.

By themselves they are great too.

With JJ tubes, Weber speaker and real grill cloth (not somebodies baby blanket) they’re pretty decent. They will never be mistaken for a 5f1 but decent.

I wouldn't say the Pro is the 600's big brother. The Pro is an el84 modern design of Fender. They 600 is a throwback to the single 6v6 original champ. The Princeton (which oatsoda has) is more like the 600's Big Bro.
