I received my new OR Terror 15 today. Very nice. Thank goodness it has the "bedroom" switch on the back. It is my first all tube amp. No fiddling with knobs on the clean channel - just a go juice knob. I am still figuring out the Dirty channel. Again, not much fiddling which is nice. I will probably need to get a new speaker cab. The Bugera 1x12 closed back is a little boomy with the tube amp. It wasn't as noticeable with the Katana head.
It has four switchable power levels: Headroom 15/7 and Bedroom 1 and 1/2 watt. It can be very loud at 7 and 15 watts, much louder than you would expect. I play frequently in the evenings and the bedroom setting a very controllable yet retain the tube amp tone.
Dumb me. I hadn't even thought to check. It does have screws at the corners but the input sockets are mounted in the center of the back. I need to do some experimentation. Thank you
I suppose you could make a partial back panel for the jacks and be able to switch it from open to closed back whenever you like.
I was also thinking that I could cut openings above and below the jack mounting plate. That could provide a partial open back. Certainly an interesting prospect for a project. For example, the Boss Katana Artist has a partially open back. It is roughly 40% open.
