This is a Bobcat from Denver Amp Works. This is the model they made for Brad Paisley and he used on Wheel House, only difference is mine has an added digiverb by Belton. Same company makes FluxTone speakers. It's based on a 5e3 circuit. The speaker is their version of a Celestion alnico blue. True PTP hand wired. The speaker can also be used as an extension cab for other amps. Spent about 6-7 hours with it yesterday and was quite impressed. What's the big deal? The big deal is the speaker - you can turn down the magnet strength of the speaker. What that allows is for the power tubes to be at full blast while the sound level is lowered, but without putting a load between the output and speaker. Very cool concept, and it works. The Belton digiverb ain't fooling a 'verb addict like me, but this circuit never had 'verb in the first place and it's nice that it's there to put some air around the notes when wanted. Also responded very well to pedals. So fun to crank this thing and have the same feel at a volume that is appealing to the wife!

 

Not cheap! I talked him down to $2500!!! You can buy the speakers for aftermarket for your existing amplifiers, and they ain't cheap either! But by gosh it works as advertised!

Actually been saving for a few years. Wife went through two forms of cancer at the same time and just weeks after her diagnosis I suffered a broken back. Been a long time coming!

Delayed gratification is so cool! Never understood that when I was younger....

Kinda sort of, not really...The FluxTone speakers reduce decibles more, and thank goodness you don't have to reach in the back to twist whatever they call it on the back of the speaker. I don't imagine that being fun in some smaller amps... The idea is near the same but the execution quite different.

Both have their own patents and operate differently. Also, when you buy an aftermarket FluxTone you get a box that controls the magnet strength.

 

Thank God yes! She is a walking miracle! We will always have to keep an eye on her and continue the ct scans and oncology visits, but we're at every six months now. It's been just a little over three years for both of us. As for my back, well...once you mess your back up it'll never be the same. Just thankful I can walk, move my arms, play guitar, fish, drive...
