I actually think Neil diamond is pretty darn good.
As a musician even if I don't prefer some artists work I still respect those who have talent and sure as the sun rises in the East Neil Diamond and Tom Jones are both very talented artists. If ever invited to play in their bands I wouldn't refuse either.
Not that that's ever gonna happen. LOL
Not only would I play Sweet Caroline..........................I'd play it on a Telecaster. And take the douc*enozzle out with a very UNBROKEN guitar. That would probably still be in tune after..........................
I like the cut of your jib.
From the news article. Also mentions that the singer Jay Murray got back up and finished his set (if not the song)..
Mr Murray says:
I laughed. Thought it was staged. Now I feel horrible horrible guilt.
BTW - I've been a singer/guitarist most of my life - weddings, birthdays, you name it.
Sweet Caroline would be in a list of rare songs that EVERYBODY in any room seems to know. Any age. Any walk of life.
(King of the Road is another. But way cooler )
Worked for Keef.
Bernie Marsden go kicked out of UFO in part for smacking Phil Mogg in the back with his guitar on stage.
Marsden later said he admired Mogg's professionalism - he kept singing all the way to the stage floor.
I can remember in about 2004 or 5 he played Ashton Gate, Bristol City soccer club's stadium to about 30,000 boomers.
Gibson Thunderbird bass.
The through-neck construction is sturdy enough to allow at least two good whacks...
