Yeah, honestly I thought it was cream colored plastic from the picture online. Then when it came it turns out it's aluminum or something and a bit more bronze/gold.
This one broke all of my rules too! I always felt like a lot of natural finishes seemed too country, and gold mehhh too piratey, but this one does it for me. The body wood is roasted okoume.

Gorgeous guitar. Congrats
Wow this is the top of the top. Congratulations with this guitar, take good care of it, play a lot and never sell it
Wow, is that a beaut! Love the neck, gold pickguard... everything! Congrats!
Keep the pickguard!
Wow! That is a beautiful and well designed Stratocaster! I can see why you were drawn to it. Congrats!
Holy smokes beautiful
Wowza! That's a beauty.
Tell me about the pickguard on the Strat in your avatar. I REALLY like it.
Sure thing. It's called island warrior. I play a lot of reggae/island music so I wanted a PG that would kind of represent that a little. Looks like you can get what I have or the colors reversed. I'm still pretty stoked I found it. It really made my roadhouse strat pop compared to the speckled burgundy one that it came with. I love a mahogany strat:
