Seems as if a bunch of us missed our weekly get-togethers, so they're back! What's new? Well for one thing, there are vocals on this week's submission.

You can still do your best Jeff Beck (or whatever you please) over the second verse/chorus and the outro, but if you want to play over the rest, you'll need to stay out of the singer's way!

I've taken the key up to E, rather than the original Eb, and made the tempo a constant 100BPM.

Look forward to hearing what you make of it!

(And no, I'm not the singer...)

Really great mix Simon. Not my genre, but I've downloaded and will give it my serious attention when I am discharged from hospital sometime the week after next (I'm being admitted on Tuesday). I will be back to my bed-studio at that point.

I really hope all goes to plan and you'll soon be home safe and sound. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

My wife goes to hospital tomorrow, to have a trial run to see if she's totally suitable for a new nebuliser regime she was due to start six months ago. All that went out of the window with Covid, of course.

All my best to Hazel, Simon, and thanks for doing this.
So, we agree, no pressure to review or comment every entry - and if nobody comments on your entry, it doesn't mean nobody listened or liked it.
And all the best to you, too, @misterwogan

Thanks for posting, Simon! Here's my take. Had to cut it short due to some issues with my USB ports continually cutting out. (USB Microphone)

Thanks, Simon. I messed around with it, it was fun (sorry, didn't come up with anything worth posting here).
    Cheers.

I'd decided not to write little reviews of everyone's take, but I'm blown away by @Dare1's tight rhythm, masterful chording and tasteful solo. Then @rockon1 lays a solo down like Jimi! How cool is that? :D

I agree. My jaw was dangling too low for its own good. The bar has been set.

huh, loaded backing, played along couple of times and pressed big red button. After that I felt a bit rusty and unexperienced

@Raimonds - there's a really strong Ian Dury & The Blockheads vibe going on there!

I had a bit of time during lunch and gave this a go. I fell off the beat a few times but hopefully it doesn't sound completely off the rails. Thanks again @simoncroft for resurrecting these. I'll give everyone else's a listen after work.

    @Mouse – That was a monster take!

Believe me, Andrea, I'm feeling the same way. I recorded a take earlier and the only thing that shines through is I haven't played much guitar in recent weeks. o_O I shall get back to it later tonight.

    Glad this is happening.

My laptop has other ideas - the display has ceased functioning and I can't get it to output a signal via HDMI either. I had to quickly set up Reaper and get my THR working on my work laptop - not familiar with Reaper so I literally just recorded the track and exported it, didn't really get a chance to audition the final sound either.

Also I wanted to do a rhythm part but didn't really have time to get the whole thing together so ended up just recording two lead bits. Maybe next time!

Blah, blah, blah, etc., and sorry about the final note:
