Not really, Fender like most big companies will let their morals slip if there’s money to be made. The type of people who visit the Playboy Club regularly probably like the idea of investing in high dollar exclusive stuff.

i have no interest in the guitar or women who show their stuff to the world but the articles, interviews and cartoons were worthy of a mag by themselves.

That maybe a real guitar, but the seller may not be. Do they speak English in London?

If it's real (and that's a big if) then I would imagine The Custom Shop probably had a number of conversations with FMIC Corporate prior to taking on a job like that. Personally I suspect it more probable that it is not real. I question FMIC lawyers agreeing to place a naked woman on the headstock. This isn't the same as 50s pin-up girl. She's got nipples. I just don't see Fender doing that. They fired Cruz for his controversial actions and he didn't even have the Fender logo on them.

Mine are from East Ham :thumb: However the English in the advert probably says more about the current state of Walthamstow than I could...

As intensely as Playboy mags fueled my teenage fantasies, the strat in here strikes me as shallow as the mags pages, so I kind of agree.

The phrase 'Sex, drugs and rock n roll' would have nothing to do with it I am sure even though that guitar epitomizes all three. Beside it is likely commissioned by Playboy. No tribute involved.

Personally, I wouldn’t order one with such a misogynistic theme, but Yeah - I like it,
The craftsmanship, and execution are superb.

The Playboy Custom Shop Stratocaster was simply a Fender Special Run ordered by Playboy .

Ah; Dave's does get in some rare/unusual models from time-to-time. Note to self: don't forget to check out Dave's site from time to time. I used to peruse their site at least a couple of times per week 8-10 years ago, but I think I've only been on it twice in the past year - and that was to look at photos from Dave's personal collection, not store stock.

Not really. It's all about the Benjamins. Fender did a branded sound system for VW's at one point. I never did quite see the connection there unless it was an extension of the First Act Guitar promotion that was done with the Beetles.

Four different colors of a doublecut guitar that you could actually plug into your VW bug and wail away..... You see em on Reverb every now and then.

I'm neither much offended nor impressed. But that ad is bogus.

I’ll add to that shim comment. Why would there be part of a micro tilt system in the body but nothing on the neck?
