Just saw this in my email and thought I'd share. New color, Inca Silver, and new option for black painted headstocks on American Professional(maybe more? I haven't looked online yet, only @ the email) Screenshot_20200511-053159_Gmail.jpg

You know what? I'm really not sure, would help once I've seen a few pics of a whole guitar. I suspect it's colour dependant. Candy Apple, white guard black headstock.........er, probably not.

Yeah the only option is black painted headstock regardless of finish on guitar =[. Cool to see they put hardtail as an option. Now we just need the option of not having the large pickguard on telecasters for HH config, double binding on teles and front and back contours as well :D

I like the options, esp the black headstock. Matching would be nice too

The one I'm really looking forward to is the contoured heel joint.

As do I. And "Silver" has never appealed to me either.
But apparently these guitars must appeal to SOMEONE, because Fender just keeps bringing crap like this back.
It's disheartening to me, because I fell in love with the Mexican Standard----and (IN MY OPINION) Fender hasn't came out with anything, from any Country, that has impressed me since. Sorry

I really like painted headstocks but it has to match the body.

Painted headstocks depend on the guitar. I like it on my translucent red G&L. I didn't like it on a MIJ Strat I had years ago. Some I like and some I don't. But if it is painted, I generally want it same color as the body. My old PRS CE22 has the matte black headstock they used around 2000-ish on the CE22s and CE24s. I'd rather have wood or the same dye as on the cap. But never been a deal breaker on a good guitar, either way.

I'd have to see a few more examples but I like that black more than I thought I would. At least matching the pickguard on that silve tele.

I'm fine with painted headstocks in general but they don't look very "Fender" to me.

My Strats have maple necks and natural headstocks . . . except one. That one is a Special Edition 60's Strat in Daphne Blue, with a rosewood fretboard. Somehow, the painted headstock (matches the body) just seems to work.

I wouldn't have sought out a Strat with a painted headstock, but the C neck profile, the 1.65" nut width, vintage style frets, and radius of the neck made it feel so easy to play. There there was the tone. I understand the pickups were meant to recreate the tone of the early 60's. Once I played it, there was no putting it down.

I don't know that I would customize a Strat by paying extra for a painted headstock, though. After all, when I'm playing it, I don't even see it most of the time.

But so far as I can tell, only black...no Mystic Aztec Gold, or sunset Metalic or Hot Rod Red to go with said body. Black is different, but the painted headstock I like best are the ones where they match the body. Not that I like painted headstocks all that much, but sometimes they are really cool.

I have a '95 CAR Am. Std. with a matching headstock.

I like it because it's different

I wouldn't mind on Stratocasters, although would look a bit strange because we're not so used to it.
But Jaguars and Jazzmasters... That's where it's at.
I'd love a surf green jaguar with matching headstock, you reading this Fender?? :D

I am surprised that there aren't more options for the painted headstock on more models. I have two Squiers that have matching headstocks and they look great in my opinion.

My 2 Silvertones have black painted headstocks but they're not Fender-shaped. They sorta work on a black and almost black guitar. I was never really a fan but they've grown on me a little. Representative photos below:
