Cool! Is it gonna be like Jeff Beck’s Tele?

What pickups are you thinking of Gary?

I was going for a set of bare knuckle mules a friend has a set for sale but I really want a set of PAFs off montys guitars London.
I can’t afford to buy my mates and montys together so it’s the old thing again I will probably be thinking I wonder if I would have should have got the others, not sure which ones mate :(

Haha if you are in the moment, then anything is exciting. Dont think about getting to the finish line, enjoy the the moment you're in right now.

My friends laugh at me at how methodically I prepare and resting my guitars. They want to do it quick and tune up and play, for me it's different. I take my time. I take off the all the strings, clean the fretboard thoroughly and polish the whole guitar with axe wax. Then I use a tiny bit of 0000# steel wool to polish up each fret to a shine, clean the fretboard one last time and then string up the guitar.

Each step is a joy for me and the end result is a guitar with fresh strings and polished up frets that make it effortless to play.

I like your progress btw, looks great!

No seriously I am going to take my time with this one every guitar I have built has ended up a relic through my willingness to get it plugged in, you sound a lot like a friend I have yet to see a ding on his guitars and he’s in a band yet all mine are marked, lol :(

I predict that this guitar will suffer from a personality crisis from time to time. Keep a big mallet handy, just in case it becomes overly aggressive,,,

Haha well you will definitely see wear on my guitars. The Martin I acquired last year and applied shellac to has worn down nicely through extensive playing, around the sound hole and pickguard. But you will probably never see dirt on my guitars or residue of grime and fat on the fretboard or dull frets.

I don't mind wear, I like it but I like to keep things clean. :)

No way to rush a first class finish. It is looking great. That binding really pops now.
