December 6th is Nikolaus- Day in Germany and that’s where you usually receive a small present from your family, normally some sweets or such. My wife wanted to get me a new guitar strap for that day and offered to make the trip to Music Store Cologne with me, which is about an hour each way. There, I spent about 4 hours just admiring and playing everything I could and had a blast! Barely anybody was there except for us, so I had all the amps etc to test out for myself! I really enjoyed playing a Squier Jaguar, an Epiphone Riviera and many others. We were about to leave when a strat caught my eye- it was the new AVII 57 strat in blonde! Had to try that one of course, it was a really nice and well made guitar, great sounds and impeccable fretwork! The neck was quite thick, the way I like them lol. Played it through some Vox amps, sounded nice but the pickups were set too high for my liking, still sounded nice. Here’s a pic of the Strat with some amps: 36040ABE-91C1-4655-8A2A-F5422583D69F.jpeg I had a blast and my wife had fun too and dutily endured my fiddling and rambling about neck profiles etc:thumb:

Another model I was impressed by was the Silver Sky SE- really nice guitar, very comfy neck in my hands and great sound too. Nice quality, and I actually prefer the looks to the US Silver Sky!

Nice. I have 2 straps under the tree from my wife (I bought them). One red leather for my red Jimmie Vaughan and one surf green leather for my DeLonge Strat.

Wait. Whoa. Hold it. Hang on a doggone minnitt…

So here you wrote this magnum opus on how you and your wife took a mini road trip to a guitar shop just for a strap, spending four hours there, only to have you find this incredible guitar when you were just about to walk out, winding up us poor readers, making us think the climax is at hand, only to let us all down by telling us that you didn’t buy it???

Oh, I think Rotten Tomatoes is gonna have a field day with this one…

😁

Hmm, I think
