    OK so I found a Line 6 Pod X3 Live Floor Guitar Modeling Processer. I found it used for a great deal. Has anyone ever used one? Here is some info I found on a forum. So it looks cool. It is paid for. I get it the same day I pickup my guitar.

    I don't have a great deal of knowledge. Just what I've read or seen on YT videos, when I was considering purchasing a Variax.

    I think Believer was selling his cause he had another rig he was using, so he may, or may not, know a lot about them.

    But there are others here who use them. I'd watch all the vids I could I YT before it arrived and also post a thread saying you're looking for info on them. I'm sure you'll get at least one or two answers that are detailed and useful.

    I had one about 12 years ago. I liked it but some of the modeling was kind of thin and weak.
    The one I have for sale now is the POD HD500X which is a newer version that had better algorithms. The top of the line right now, I believe, is the Helix.
    I used my XT live when I played in the church band because it was fairly easy to set up sounds, store then carry with me. Plus it was good as a direct into FOH.
    Ultimately I ended up going back to my analog pedal board and a Marshall.
    I still have that HD500X for sale too.

    Thanks for the reply. And you go to church awsome. I watch through the computer church services. My tinnitus keeps me from going. Their mics, amp's etc.. is to loud and it makes my tinnitus louder. I also called to preach myself.

    Totally agree, some of the modeling thin and weak but, nothing a stomp eq couldn't fix.
    YMMV
    Lately, I've been running many things through stomp eq's. From cheap mics, even a cheap casio LK-230 piano.
    EVERYTHING is tweakable with equalization.
    Again YMMV

    I have been using the POD X3 Live for rehearsals and POD X3 for practice for about a year now since I can't really afford individual pedals yet, the learning curve is a bit steep but it's worth it.

    Here are some things I've done to make it more user-friendly

    1. Download GearBox to your computer so you can tweak your preset there instead of fiddling with the actual unit. You can later import all your presets directly to you unit and vice versa.

    You do need a "Printer Cable USB 2.0 Type A Male to B Male Computer", I used this particular one. This also allows you to jam with tracks on played from your computer (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00P0FO0Y2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
    Don't forget to close the GearBox app before unplugging your usb though, otherwise the computer drivers would crash and make you force restart.

    2. Dialing a good tone is a bit tricky, but you can get a head start using Line 6 CustomTone, which is just a preset that was already created by the community (https://line6.com/customtone/browse/podx3/), just make sure to download the ones that are higher rated and have a lot of downloads.

    3. I always use my amp instead of a PA system when I rehearse, so I make sure to turn off the amp modelling because it would sound horrible otherwise.

    One last tip that is the most important is to start really low with the master volume, I find anything past the first quarter mark to be really loud.
