I just sold a whack of gear. Strings are all I spend money on right now. Retired so not a lot of disposable income anymore.
Mrs. Believer and I don't do resolutions. We are goal oriented though. My goal in guitar this year requires that I buy, or build, several guitars. However they will all be given away to fundraisers, charities and underprivileged kids that want to learn to play guitar. Another goal I have is to get S-7 off the ground and start cutting my own bodies and necks. I hope to build my first guitar from pieces of wood and play it then build my second and sell it in 2021. Since we paid off our house this year during the pandemic frenzy, praise be to God, and are not looking to move until we retire we are now working on setting up my shop.
Super awesome Believer, that is very Generous and altruistic of you can't wait to see what you come up with
No way! I already got plans to buy a PRS McCarty 594 Hollow Body and a Taylor K14 Builders Edition first quarter of 2021.
Just one new guitar for me in 2021--an Eric Johnson signature Strat. Oh, and maybe an MIA from 2008ish for good measure. And maybe another cheap SX Strat copy. And of course I'll replace the tube amp I sold in 2020 with something nice. And I'd like a MXR Carbon Copy, a Boss SD-1, an OCD, and a Mad Professor Golden Cello. But other than that, count me in--no new gear in 2021!
Depending on when Warmoth delivers my neck, 2021 could be no new gear Seriously, in 2021, I will figure out recording to a computer using a DAW. Last attempted in 2014 and could figure out the signal routing thing. I can write all kinds of code, but for some reason, I just can't wrap my head around it.
No sweat. My gear buying days are behind me, and I’m down to a few essential guitars and amps... I probably won’t buy anything for five years. Unless I talk myself into that Guild...
