Traded in a bunch of gear I wasn't using anymore for an Epiphone SG in faded cherry; couldn't figure out why it was being sold as used even though it looked brand new. Figured out from the markings that it was a factory refurbished - there is one possible cosmetic spot and also what looks like might be a neck repair, but again all done by the factory.
Sounds good and plays great though - again, since I traded in gear it was nothing out of pocket - I even had enough left over for an Ernie Ball MVP volume pedal:

I was stoked that it had a lot of the classier touches like the trap inlays, bound neck, tophat knobs - most of the similar models I see don't have the neck binding.

Matches well with my ES-335 - both sonically and visually:

I opened up a free "stall" by trading in an Ibanez Short Scale bass that I had for years and only picked up every 3 months or so...

On the case subject - this is the closest I have to a fit, but there is obviously a gap under the heel - would I need to put some padding under there and maybe under the headstock?

I would be a bit uneasy about using that case for an SG, because it does not have the proper support for the neck, headstock, and neck joint.

I searched but could not find a less expensive case made specifically for the SG.
