NGD - 1961 AV2

Finally was able to complete my AV2 small collection by adding a 1961 reissue model. Awesome guitar and reminds me a lot of my old AV 59 from 2017. Guitar weighs about 7.5lbs and it’s really resonant. Hope to be able to gig it next week.

I love the 59 AVs- except for the SB finishes... way too yellow for a 59 replica.
This 61 AV II looks much better in SB than the 59 AVs.

thanks dude. The HDRX 20 is a sweet amp. Usually my tone is a black-panel tone with a morning glory always on, so switching to a British inspired amp for some gigs felt different. I love the master volume, the size and weight. I mainly use it clean/edge of break up and get my dirt from pedals. I wish it had an fx loop and a standby switch, but those are not dealbreakers for me.

The 59 I had is the one guitar I will always regret selling… oh well. I remember buying it on reverb when you could pick those up for about $1200 -$1400 in like-new shape. I bought one of those thin skins from wildwood last year and didn’t bond with it so ended up returning it. This 61 AV2 is definitely closer to what I remember the 59 AV being.
