Very excited to share this one with you guys.

Funny enough, the idea originally came from the pickguard and pickups I had lying around. Like most of us, after almost 20 years of playing guitar, you end up with a ton of spare parts. One day I found this old singly ply guard tucked away for years and it had naturally started to yellow (light bulb!). I also had the Fat 50s sitting and this set of '54 reissue plastic parts waiting to be used.

Next came this beautiful MJT Shoreline Gold Ash body on eBay. It was NOS besides a few random check lines which actually didn't look very good but allowed me to grab it for a steal. That sat in my closet for about 6 months until I found a nice Road Worn neck for a great price.

I bought the parts as a starting point but knew I was going to make it my own. With a lot of research and elbow grease, I am so thrilled with the results. Basically, besides the generic Road Worn aging on the neck, the rest was done by me.

I wasn't planning to go into heavy detail on the process, but if anyone has questions I would be happy to answer them.

I really like that! Reminds me of the first build I did in the early 80's. Good job.

I like your job on the SG. I'm not much for relicing but I fancy the SG color and what you did.

Thank you! Sorry about that. :whistling:

Thanks. It depends on the lighting. In warmer light it looks closer to Aztec gold, but cooler light looks closer to yours. Probably a little warmer then yours though.

Nice, do you still have it?

Thanks, I know it's not for everyone but I think it looks pretty tasteful and not overboard.

No, I sold it to someone I know who still has it but won’t sell it back to me!

Did you use the can of air upside down trick to spray the cold stuff on?

Looks great. Reminds me of a LP gold top I watched a video on where they used that method to crack it up.

    Dang, that ain’t right.

Yep, that’s exactly it. I've seen it done on an LP before as well and I didn't care for the result. Worked like a charm on my body though. I'm sure it has something to do with the finish itself.
