Recently sold an Ibanez JS240PS only because I couldn't bond with the neck, and purchased in its place a Jackson Pro Series Soloist SL2 in Red Mercury. I've owned many Ibanez guitars, but never a Jackson and nothing this pointy. The look takes me right back to the 80s, though this is my first crackle finish. It came set up perfectly, with nice low action, and plays great. The only two things I didn't like so much I was able to remedy with some parts on hand: I replaced the cheap tuners with Planet Waves auto-trim lockers and I replaced the screw-in trem arm assembly with a pop-in. That may be all it needs, as the fretwork seems surprisingly good so far. Will see how the Floyd 1000 feels, that may get upgraded. I'd also like to express my thanks to Jon at Red Dragon Guitars, the eBay seller (camaror-25) who went over and above on this sale with helpful info + communications, a very competitive price, a cool T shirt, and a terrific Jackson TSA hard shell case "thrown in" for no extra charge! The pics show the guitar out of the box, prior to peeling the plastics or making the mods noted above. My photography (on a cloudy day) doesn't do the finish justice, the fine silver streaks in the bright red are unbelievable in person.
