NGD - Am Performer. So long CV 60s

A very tough decision. I took my beloved CV 60s and my Vox practice amp to the store and A/B'd Player, AmPerf, AmPro, and Ultra. I've done it a few times before, but there never were any Performers in stock. My ears and hands liked my Classic Vibe as much as all the others. Until I played a Performer. For me (and of course, that's pretty darned subjective), the Performer was the first Strat that clearly was better at capturing the music in my mind. Those Yosemite pickups and that push-pull neck addition function was it for me. The neck feels a tad wider, the tuners are a massive jump from the CV60. I really loved that guitar, but I'm on 1 in, 1 out mode these days. Good times ahead!

Very true. Yours is just stunning! I dig the Honeyburst on mine. I tried the up lines as well. The V Mod pickups weren't for me. BTW, I still have my Classic Vibe Starcaster semihollow, which is also a great guitar. No one seems to know about them. Very rich tone.

I brought my CV60 and my vox mini3G2 amp set the way I like it along with my headphones. Had the sales guy bring down a couple Performers and kept alternating between them and my guitar. He brought down Players, Pros, and Ultras as well. I got there when the store opened. The only ones I liked better than my Squier CV were the Performers. The salesperson was cool about leaving me alone. I spent about an hour there.

Nice; congrats! I really like that color on the American Performers. I have an American Performer Tele; I kind of have it in the back of my mind that I might be upgrading from my Schecter Strat-style to an American Performer some time later this year.

Yes, they say the Performers have a satin finish, but I think that's not true on the Honeyburst.

I bought the Performer a year ago when they were closing out the Penny color. I'm quite impressed with it all the way around. It is all that a Strat should be. No complaints at all.
