I'm back, back in the saddle aga-ain! LOL So, I did solicit some requests for motivation a few weeks ago... It was really a foregone conclusion. I had received an offer from MF, over eBay about a Demo model. I hesitated, and lost the first time around. When the second time came around? I did not lose. I got it first thing this morning. I had a little trepidation about buying a demo... But, my fears were for nothing! It came double boxed in cardboard, and inside the beautiful new Fender hard case! I mean, I had seen them online, but man, in person, that thing is absolutely beautiful! When I cracked open the case, I was shocked. But, in a great way! This new gal of mine is a stunner! Granted, in a very classic, maybe even boring, fashion... The beautiful Fender 3 tone sunburst! The nice medium dark rosewood board. Love the nice light alder body. I threw it on a postal scale and it came in at a cool 7 lbs 11 oz. I love it, feels nice and light! Be great for those three and four hour gigs! Action is nice all over the neck. Feels like a Strat should with it's nice soft rounded fretboard edges! Oh, it feel so nice! I've owned a number of Strats before. But, never a USA made one. My first was the one that got away, a 1982 MIJ ST-62. It was one of the best guitars I've ever played... I literally wore the frets down to the rosewood. Thinking all Strats would play that way, I stupidly traded it away in a fruitless tone search. It was a beautiful 3 tone sunburst as well. I owned a MIJ Photflame, a Squier Affinity, a Classic Player 50's (shoreline gold, what a beautiful guitar!), a shell pink partscaster, and the other 3TSB one of the very first Roadworn 60's. All of them were chasing the feel of that first one. This new AmProII is probably the closest. I am looking forward to hours and hours of playing pleasure and frustration to come! Also, let me revisit this demo thing... I went over this guitar from end to end... I could only find a tiny, tiny ding, so small, so shallow I couldn't get it to show up on camera. It's on the back, and I had to hold the guitar at a very oblique angle to even find it... I'll put more than that in before next week! So, I would not hesitate for one second if considering a good price on a demo guitar form MF, through eBay!
