NGD....BC Rich Ironbird

One of my co-workers found out I was into guitar and said he had something I might be interested in. So he brings in a early 2000-era Korean-made Ironbird that he says has been living in his closet for the last 15 years or so. For its age, its not in that bad of shape but def needs a wipe down and setup but I am officially its caretaker now until he wants it back or I make him a proper offer and buy it.

That is a sweet October 2003 Spaceface Ironbird Body Art Series BC Rich. The necks on these are really nice to play. The BDSM pcikups are pretty good sounding too. (Well just noticed yopurs has a Seymour Duncan, so that is even better) When is the first video coming out?

I ordered a the August 2003 Brass City Beast from a New York shop in 2006 but they did a poor job packing it and it arrived damaged. I really hated sending it back. but the damage was unacceptable to me. I had a potato camera back then.

Yep, that is the one! The neck is comfy but man, I am not used to the small frets after playing jumbos all these years! They need to be cleaned up a bit as they are bit rough but I'm hoping to at least get a riff or two up in the rolling challenge thread up and @Mouse and I are slowly working on a new collab...more to follow on that

I found in the short time I had it that the BC Rich Beast is not a sit down guitar. This ridge here will dig into your leg something fierce. Yours looks far better as a sitter.

The Ironbird feels great while sitting...kinda explorer-ish.

Yep, I do remember that! I think Eric Rutan (Hate Eternal, Cannibal Corpse) deserves some major credit for breathing some life back into this model and getting them reissued.

I'd put a Seth Lover in it and play the blues...

Ha! Its got a unknown seymour duncan in it now that was installed before my buddy got it. I'll be curious as to how it sounds....I havent even had a chance to plug it in yet...the strings are like rusty razor wire so I figured I'd strip it down, clean it up a bit, and restring it before getting too attached...more to follow
