A few days ago I got my first Classic Player 60s. I tried a lot of CP60s and played one for a long time, but never actually owned one. I was in the market for a Road Worn but then this beauty called me.

It's a 2015 Classic Player 60s in candy apple red with rosewood fingerboard. I don't think it was ever played. Some personal considerations I'm curios to discuss with you:

    - Many say older Classic Players are better, but in my experience, at least with this very guitar, that's not true: the fit & finish is at least on par with every other CP I've tried, and this is one of the most resonant Strats I've ever owned (and I own/owned A LOT of MIAs).
    - I find almost no difference (or negligible differences) in build quality compared to American Standards/Professionals or even from the American Deluxe I currently own.
    - I also owned two Classic Series 50s (a 2010 and a 2014). I have to say from a fit & finish / touch & feel / general quality feeling, I find Classic Players a step ahead Classic Series.
    - The neck is absolutely awesome
    - The bridge pickup desperately needs the tone control. I'll do the mod as soon as possible
    - In general, I find the pickups very very good but maybe I'd like them to have a little more "body"
    - I still have to understand the difference between Custom '69s and Custom Shop '69s
    - I can't tell if the bridge if mexican or american made. Any help?

A little trivia: this is the most difficult guitar I have ever photographed. It is very tricky to mantain the true red mint green colors at the same time. What the hell.

The rosewood on the fretboard is quite good. Not the best rosewood I've ever seen by a long, long shot... but it is more than decent and I'm happy with it.

P.S.: It is also great for slide! (A rare TV Yellow slide, I must say)

Very pretty...nice score. Those were a great series and proof that Mexican Fenders made in the last 15 years or so can be every bit as great as USA ones in terms of performance. The 69 pickups are nice but more transparent in the midrange so if you want a beefier sound you might want pickups with a denser midrange response.
