Meet Carmen, the first guitar I've ever bought new! I think the only negative review I saw was from someone who had to go back to the store to get their whammy bar. Once I got the plastic film off the pick guard and pickups and got her in tune, she played great out of the box! I'm not planning on any mods or upgrades - most reviews I read said "played great out of the box, but I'm going to change this, and change that, etc." I just hope Beatrix (the Midnight Wine HSS Standard Strat on the left) doesn't get too jealous! 20211022_172021.jpg

I put together a CV60 and sold it whole, but I've never owned one bought new yet. I've got to sell stuff, and not buy more. So far I'm not doing so well in trying to do that.

What?? The stock pickups in the 2018 and newer Classic Vibe are just generic Fender asian made plastic bobbin alnico pickups, similar to the old Standard Squier pickups......they never used expensive pickups in the Squier line....

Nice CV, good score. That is a candidate for a lifetime guitar. Just for kicks I looked on Craigs, here in Az. and the West coast for CV Strats. Couldn't find any. Conclusion is people hang onto them.

Congrats on the new CV60s - that's a great looking guitar!

I got a LPB CV60s Strat about 8 years ago and it certainly holds its own in the company of my USA Strats, including AVRI models. I still play it very frequently. The earlier CV's were reputed to have "Tonerider" pickups that are fairly well regarded. I have not played a new CV60s Strat but have read that the current Fender branded CV pickups have very similar properties to the earlier ones and sound pretty much the same.

I also have 3 CV Teles. The CVs are the best guitar value in the Fender line IMO.
