Got my dream guitar. Except for a private stock PRS this is the guitar I´v wanted the most all my life. 2001 R8. Amazing guitar. The only bad thing is, the neck is not THICC enough!
I'm not a Les Paul guy, but that is gorgeous! I thought these were supposed to have thick necks, though. When you said "THICC", you meant to say "thick", right?
Congrats on that beauty! Now that you’ve got that one, you won’t need the others, right? Just kidding of course
I love the look of LP but have sold every one I’ve owned within 6 months. Just can’t get on with them. That’s why I fell in love with my PRS Custom 22. My wife told me I can order a private stock for my 50th in 5 years so I’m trying to decide on what specs to go with. I actually sold all my Fender guitars after buying the Custom 22 and Silver Sky in the last 13 months. Looking at the McCarty 594 Hollow Body now to buy spring or summer.
Wow, is that beautiful! LP’s are my second favorite! I was just thinking about LP’s, and that I want one again. I sold mine on consignment, back in ‘91, a ‘69 Goldtop Deluxe, modded and not in great ahape, but played well. Got $400 for it, argghhh! Still bugs me 30 years later! Good luck with yours, to me, yours is the ultimate LP! Never let it go!!! ( trust me)
Yes but I´d like the neck even bigger. This one is big but it does not have "sholders" so it does not feel as thick as I like.
What I think the "problem" is, is that some necks have more "sholders" that make the neck feels huge in the hand. This one is deep but don´t feel that wide in the hand. I´m about 6´7 tall and have big hands so that is another part of this "problem".
I´ll order a Private stock the day I win the lotto. But I don´t play, so I guess it will never happen. Might get a second hand thou. I´d like a Singlecut trem with a fat solid IRW neck, a fade-finish and maybe a floyd-rose! Would not kick this one out of bed: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5338148356&icep_item=184072687346
Have you tried Gretsch guitars? I was at GC a few days ago and tried one out and the neck felt like 2x4 huge. Personally, I hated it, but if someone wanted shore up their foundation with one, it would work.
Damn. That is spectacular. I just bought a 2019 "Original 60's," and it is the best LP I have owned over the years. I am toying with the idea of selling it and a couple others to fund the purchase of a used R8-R9. Your pictures are not helping... ENJOY IT.
