Didn't believe in getting it this year. According to tracking, the package has been at the post office since it was posted on December 23rd. unchanged firmly. Now the miracle happened and the package was suddenly delivered today.

Here it is now the (presumably) 2003 AVRI57. Unfortunately, the camera's battery was also empty. I quickly loaded a little and only took this one photo for now. More will follow, even after I've screwed it apart.

First impression: The neck does not have a particularly pronounced V profile (this is much more pronounced on my 54MIJ) and the neck surface is a little too sticky. But it seems to improve quickly when playing. Of course, the frets have fretwear. The grain of the two-part alder body is beautiful.

Congrats on the new guitar! I bet it sounds just as good as it looks! :).

Have one exactly like it but was built in the late 80s (it's the one in my profile pic). Its currently my go-to #1.

    Enjoy!

Congrats! Looks a lot like my AO 50s Strat from 2017. How heavy is it? (If you don't mind my asking)?

I'm liking the 2 tone Sunburst finish, reminds me of my 2004 50th Anniversary model.
    Very nice.
    Enjoy your new guitar

20201231_210300.jpg View attachment 447221 This is my 57 AVRI from 2003, V141359. Had it from new, first guitar I owned which was everything I wanted. I wore the first frets right down and the second set are half way through. It's the one I'd save in a fire. Neck is a medium slim V, I don't know what the neck on your 54 is like but I've played some MIJ v necks that were very sharp, a bit too much for my tastes.

Awesome! Great guitars. Mine is from '97 so it's got a C shaped neck rather than a V. It's a stellar Strat run, for sure.

    Congratulations!
