Been in Japan for almost a year cuz,... zombie apocalypse. Bought a guitar just to practice on then, really started hunting’em down. I got extremely lucky.

    Meet the girls!!

‘Mei’ is a 2004 ST62-TX ($425 first purchase). A players guitar that is set up really well and has the best trem set-up I have ever seen on a strat..

‘Tanabe’ is a spicy little 2018 ST57-TX with a soft ‘V’ neck that is fantastic. ($318) with VERY nice gig bag.

‘Rein’, Super light, ridiculously light 2010 ST57-TX in Sonic Blue that sounds awesome and looks like its brand new. An amazing buy at $287!! My fave!

You lucky ****er...those prices are incredible. Will you be able to bring them all back with you? It might be best to ship them FedEx or something similar to avoid damage in the cargo hold. Did they come with cases?

If I were there I would travel to Akune to meet Stephen Faulk, the classical guitar maker who made my guitar. If you ever get the itch for a classical or Flamenco, it would be worth checking him out and his shop. I don’t know how the italics got pressed.

I’m glad I’m not the only one naming my guitars with names from their birthplace! Nice guitars dude, as a lefty I'd love to spend some time in Tokyo visiting Taniguchi Gakki etc...

The ST62 sunburst came with a gig bag that was little more than a guitar shaped wind breaker. I ordered a really good Fender gig bag to carry her back. Rein came with no case so I ordered a molded hard shell Fender case. I will ship Tanabe in it some equipment we are shipping back.

We are in a resort town called Shirahama near Tanabe. I have since moved out of the hotel and into a house on a hill overlooking the bay. I’ll get some glamour shots of ‘the girls’ with it in the back ground.

That’s a great family, you have superb taste.
I wonder why they’re so inexpensive over there.
Pricey here in the USA, yes?

Those prices he paid are real bargains, even for Japan! Those guitars with the US Texas Special pickups were all around the 90k yen mark when new, which is about 850 US dollars at current exchange rate.

Yup, I got lucky. Period. I am supposed to visit another music shop in a few days. Prices in Tokyo for these guitar are much higher. I walked away from Fender when the music store I worked for in the early 80s had no choice but to drop them. The store owner pulled a three bolt strat new out of the box, pulled a nickel out of his pocket and dropped into the gap in the neck pocket. He called the distributor and dropped the line.
Fender Japan makes the tightest neck joints I have seen in a production guitar now. They are fabulous necks too! They have such a great old school feel to them.
That red one although I am not crazy about the color, has the best maple fret board neck I have owned.
If I find some other deals here I will post them on here. I won’t be able to buy them, I don’t want to push my luck at home with so many purchases .
I sent this to my wife but she failed to see the humor.
