I traded in an acoustic today for a shiny new Strat! I was torn between this and a used American Special Tele, but I loved the satin finish on the maple fretboard, along with the noiseless pickups on the Strat...and what I'm pretty sure is S1 switching? Here she is...my first maple fretboard too!
Congrats, Love mine, you will enjoy this immensely. Nothing pretentious about it, just an excellent instrument. I have the sapphire transparent blue also and yes that is a S1 switch.
If I'm correct this should be the wiring option for your guitar. When the push/push switch is not engaged, the functions thusly: Position 1: Bridge pickup only Position 2: Bridge pickup and middle pickup together Position 3: Middle pickup only Position 4. Middle pickup and neck pickup together Position 5: Neck pickup only When the push/push switch is engaged, the wiring is as follows: Position 1: Bridge pickup only Position 2: Bridge pickup and middle pickup together Position 3: Middle pickup only Position 4. Bridge pickup, middle pickup and neck pickup together Position 5: Bridge pickup and neck pickup Also noticed your flag only has 32 stars, why is that?
HNGD! Yeah, I like the satin finish too. But the 2 point bridge and the big headstock are a huge turn-off for me (Not judging your new Strat!), or I'd have jumped on that model long ago! Enjoy that beauty!
I personally prefer the 6 screw bridge for looks, but I don't use the trem on a Strat really...and I am the opposite with the headstock, I love the big 70's style
I never liked maple fretboards........until I played one. Give me maple or ebony please. As for the satin neck, great choice, my clapton strat is satin and maple and I love it. Btw, your guitar is good looking
It's all about the optics for me - a blocked 2 point sounds the same as a blocked 6 point. But if you like the 70s necks then holy guacamole, do I envy you! All those Squiers with the big headstocks are just waiting for you to take them off the wall! Granted, they've got the modern bridge, too, but hey, for that price, I ain't complaining. Anyway, I don't mean to fuel your GAS moments after your NGD, so I'll leave it at that...
I'm wanting one of those badly... awesome score and congrats! I play my 2014 MiM with D Allen pups more than my new American Pro. I love the new Pro but I'm very impressed with the feel of the MIM.
This thread is not helping my GAS! I just recent;y bought a Nashville Deluxe Tele but, it was a difficult choice between that and the Deluxe Strat! That blue looks great! HNGD!
Wish mine was that color! Major congrats! My 2016 MIM Deluxe Roadhouse has similar features and let me tell you, the S1 feature is awesome. So many different sounds. The passive sounds are great, and that's 5. Then, you got 20 more! And more... I don't why these aren't catching on. I haven't bought a guitar that I felt no need to modify before. I've seen a lot of slams. Maybe it's just me.
